基于人类对身体增强的渴盼，“进化机”可视为旨在帮助人类进化的虚构仪器。当你身着橘色紧身服，踏入蛋形容器，穿戴机械外骨骼，你的大脑便可从肉身中解脱，具备身体运动学习功能的人工智能将接管你的身体意识，以算法演化的数据来操控并引导你的身体如蹒跚学步般缓缓行动。人类为了追求自我进化而对技术的演进进行无止境地催化，与此同时，我们的肉身和感知也杂糅了被技术规训的基因，从而进化为半数字肉身。试问：当人类信赖并依赖技术教条至连自我都需要借机器的辅助来建构认知之时，这究竟是一种进化还是退化？

Based on the human desire for physical enhancement, Evolution Machine can be seen as a fictional device designed to help humans evolve. When you step into an egg-shaped container in a tight orange suit and wear a mechanical exoskeleton, your brain is freed from your physical body and an artificial intelligence with body movement learning capabilities takes over your body consciousness, manipulating and guiding your body slowly as a toddler with algorithmically evolved data. In the pursuit of self-evolution, humans catalyze the evolution of technology endlessly, while at the same time, our physical bodies and perceptions are mingled with the genetics of technological discipline, thus evolving into semi-digital bodies. The question is: When humans trust and rely on technological dogma to the extent that they need the assistance of machines to construct cognition, is this an evolution or a degeneration?
作品主要由算法端程序、控制端程序和主体装置（机械外骨骼）三部分组成。「算法端」实时进行遗传算法对人类身体动作的生成、演化与迭代，并将拥有最高环境适应能力的动作数据传输到「控制端」；「控制端」与「主体装置」连接，将接收到的演化动作基因转化为单片机可读的数据格式实时同步到机械外骨骼，机械骨骼和表演者均封闭于蛋形容器中缓缓行动。
The work is mainly composed of three parts: Algorithm Terminal, Control Terminal, and the main installation (mechanical exoskeleton). The Algorithm Terminal performs the generation, evolution, and iteration of human body movements by genetic algorithms in real-time, and transmits the movement data with the highest environmental fitness to the Control Terminal; the Control Terminal is connected to the exoskeleton and converts the received evolutionary action genes into a data format readable by Arduino and synchronizes it to the mechanical exoskeleton. Both the mechanical skeleton and the performer are enclosed in egg-shaped containers and act slowly.

基于自然选择学说并经由人为技术逻辑包装的遗传算法作为一种机器学习策略，在作品中用以演化模拟火星物理环境下的人类身体运动，并将动作数据同步至首次登上火星的人类，以机器之脑替代肉身之脑教化人类认知新重力环境下的身体行动。作品试图对技术机器侵占身体的话题展开思辨：当人类信任机器教条至连自我都需要借助机器的辅助来认知之时，这究竟是一种进化还是退化？
